Jack Holleran was appointed as the Deputy Director of Athletics at UMass Dartmouth on June 1, 2022. Holleran has served as a senior member of the Corsair staff for the past eight years after being promoted to associate director of athletics in August 2014. He was hired as the sports information director six months earlier.
Holleran is responsible for supporting the work of the Director of Athletics & Recreation in the overall strategic planning and managing of a comprehensive intercollegiate athletics program, consisting of 19 varsity teams and nearly 500 student-athletes. He is primarily responsible for the logistics related to game-day experience, intercollegiate scheduling, transportation, and apparel vendor. Holleran is also focused on maximizing revenue generation through facility rentals, camps, and clinics, while increasing opportunities for engagement among external constituencies such as alumni, corporate sponsorships, and community groups. He is the sport supervisor for baseball, men’s basketball, men’s soccer, women’s soccer, softball, and swimming and diving.
An active member of the NCAA Division III and Little East Conference, Holleran served a two-year appointment on the NCAA Division III Women’s Soccer Regional Advisory Committee. He also participated in the inaugural GameDay the DIII Way ambassadors training programming in 2017. Holleran is currently the conference liaison for the softball coaches after previously serving as the track and field representative.
Prior to joining UMass Dartmouth, Holleran spent eight years at the Little East Conference as assistant commissioner and director of communications. He was responsible for coordinating the communication strategy and publicity efforts for the eight-member NCAA Division III conference. Holleran increased the LEC’s visibility and branding initiatives by launching a responsive conference website (Littleeast.com) and video-streaming platform (Littleeast.tv). The Little East Conference became the first NCAA conference—Division I through III—to deliver a free video-broadcast to fans through a smartphone. Holleran also administered the NCAA Conference Strategic Initiatives Grant Program and managed the relationship with corporate partners to ensure awards, merchandise and publications were available at all 19-championship venues.
Holleran also worked in the athletic communication offices at Rhode Island College and Hobart and William Smith Colleges.
A former NCAA Division III student-athlete, Holleran was a four-year letter winner for the Hobart College football program and helped the Statesmen qualify for two NCAA Tournament berths, capture the 2003 Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference North Atlantic Bowl Championship, and win three consecutive Liberty League titles. Holleran was named to the All-Liberty League, second-team as a running back in 2004.
