Fillion joined the UMass Dartmouth field hockey staff in 2024. She joins the staff following an outstanding career at Dean College, where she was a standout in both field hockey and lacrosse.

During her field hockey career at Dean, Fillion was the starting goalkeeper, serving as team captain for three seasons. She finished third in the GNAC during the 2022 season with 139 saves, including 23 versus Salve Regina. Fillion was a four-time NFHCA Scholar of Distinction (GPA over 3.90) and was named to the organization’s All-Academic Squad in each of her four seasons. She was also a multiple All-Academic honoree in the GNAC and the conference’s All-Sportsmanship Team honoree. Fillion was also the Dean Field Hockey Most Valuable Player in her career.

In addition to field hockey, Fillion was also a defender on the Bulldogs lacrosse team, serving as captain during her senior season. She was a two-time IWLCA Academic Honor Roll recipient, along with earning the Dean Women’s Lacrosse Coach’s Award.

A multiple President’s List and Dean’s List honoree, Fillion was a member of Chi Alpha Sigman, the Golden Key Society and won the Arthur W. Peirce Prize in 2024. A 2023-24 Peter Hexter ’66 Campus Involvement Award winner, she was also a 2024 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District At-Large selection.

Fillion is a native of New Bedford, Mass., playing field hockey at Bishop Stang High School. In addition to being a captain and team Most Valuable Player, she was also an Eastern Athletic Conference All-Star.
