Scott Picard

Scott Picard enters his second year as a member of the UMass Dartmouth coaching staff.

As an assistant coach, Picard is responsible for all facets of the program, including game-day operations, electronic scouting,and recruiting.  He primarily mentors the guards and his guidance made an immediate impact last winter. Freshman guard Tucker Bouchard was named the 2014 Little East Conference Rookie oftheYear, Second-Team All-Little East Conference, and a member of the All-Little East Conference Rookie Team.

Prior to joining UMass Dartmouth, Picard served a one-year stint as an assistant coach at Middlebury College, working with the guards.  The Panthers produced an overall record of 25-4 and advanced to the NCAA Division III Quarterfinals. Middlebury edged Ithaca, 73-72, to book its trip to the regionalfinals in Salem, Va.  Under his watch, Joey Kizel and Nolan Thompsoneach garnered All-NESCAC, first-team recognition.
 
Picard began his coaching career at the scholastic level, serving as an assistant at the Rivers School (Mass.).  Hehelped guide the Red Wings to the finals of the New England Class B Championship.

A 2011 graduate of Springfield College, Picard earned a bachelor’s degree in Sports Management. During his senior year, he fulfilled the role of student manager for the Pride’s men’s varsity basketball team.
