Box Score NORTH DARTMOUTH, MA– Plymouth State used an 11-0 run to
extend a six-point halftime lead and go on to a 69-40 victory over
host UMass Dartmouth in the second game of a Little East Conference
doubleheader at the Tripp Athletic Center Saturday. The Panthers
shot a blistering 64 percent from the floor in the second half.
Sophomore guard Alex Burt (Dover, NH/Dover HS) led PSU (4-14,
2-7 LEC) with a game-high 14 points. Junior guard Petey Skevas
(Wethersfield, CT/Wethersfield HS) and senior guard Kevin Eisenberg
(Moultonborough, NH/Moultonborough Academy) added 13 points apiece
for Plymouth State.
UMD (3-15, 1-8 LEC) jumped out to a 13-6 lead after
six-and-a-half minutes of play, but the Panthers used a 9-2 run to
even the game at 15-15 with 6:51 to go in the first. Burt's layup
with 1:14 remaining in the opening frame put PSU in front for
good.

Clayton (Boston, MA/East Boston\Monroe CC) and sophomore guard
Jake
Laga (Northampton, MA/Northampton HS) each had eight points to
highlight the Corsair scoring. Both also pulled down a team-high
four rebounds apiece.
Plymouth State held an eleven-rebound advantage on the boards,
40-29, and shot 51.9 percent on the contest while limiting UMD to a
30.4 percent performance from the floor.
"I'm very disappointed in my team," said UMass Dartmouth Head
Coach Brian Baptiste.
The Corsairs will return to action when they host Tufts next
Tuesday evening in a non-conference clash. The Panthers host
Granite State-rival Colby-Sawyer Tuesday.
