Box Score PLYMOUTH, N.H. – Sophomore Brianna Wojtas (Salem, N.H.) smashed 13 kills with a .520 attack percentage Saturday afternoon to lead Plymouth State University to a 3-0 sweep of the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth women's volleyball team in a Little East Conference match at Foley Gymnasium.
The Panthers won by set scores of 25-13, 25-18 and 25-16, limiting UMass Dartmouth to a negative attack percentage. The Panthers improve their record to 5-8 overall and 1-1 in the Little East, while the Corsairs drop to 6-9 overall and 0-2 in conference play.
Wojtas did not record an attack error for the second straight match, posting 13 kills on 25 attempts. She also registered a team-high three blocks. Senior Jana Nieman (Fair Lawn, N.J.) chipped in with seven kills and sophomore Mikki Taffe (East Hampstead, N.H.) contributed six winners, and junior setter Kirsten Perrotta (Hudson, N.H.) made a team-high five service aces.
Junior Jasmine Burris (New Bedford, Mass.) led the visitors with six kills, while classmate Eliza Bowes (West Yarmouth, Mass.) added three winners. Junior libero Briana Perry (Acushnet, Mass.) continues her high-performance on the backline for the Corsairs, as she posted a match-high 22 digs.
UMass Dartmouth will return to action at 7 p.m. on Sept. 30, when the Corsairs host Mount Ida College in a non-conference match.
