Box Score BOSTON - The Corsairs erased a 2-0 deficit to tie the game up in the 73rd minute, but the Beacons' Ocane Williamson (Spanishtown St. Catherine, Jamaica) netted a hat trick to eventually defeat the Corsairs 3-2 in Little East Conference action on Saturday evening.

How it Happened
UMass Boston started the scoring at with 9:18 remaining in the first half, when Williamson put a shot just out of reach of the Corsairs keeper Luis Carranza (New Bedford, Mass.) to the near post. Junior Joshua Khang (Brockton, Mass.) and senior Arlindo Goncalves (Brockton, Mass.) were credited with the assists.
In the first half, the Beacons controlled the game as they outshot the Corsairs 7-0 and held 7-1 advantage on corners.
The second half started out to even out until sophomore Mohamed Kenawy (Revere, Mass.) freed Williamson from the Corsairs' backline to double to Beacons lead to 2-0 at the 59:36 marker.
After a Beacons' foul set a Corsairs free kick, senior Troy Martins (Attleboro, Mass.) sent in the free kick from 30 yards out that found the head of sophomore John Correia (Peabody, Mass.), which he redirected into the far corner of the net, cutting the lead in half.
With 16:16 remaining in the game, senior Matt Vidal (New Bedford, Mass.) tied the game with his 12th goal of the season with a strike from 25 yards out.
Williamson then broke the tie with 8:17 to go in regulation when he put the trickling ball past Carranza to give him his first collegiate hat-trick. Fellow freshman Jake Davenport (Weymouth, Mass.) was credited with the assist.
Inside the Numbers
- Carranza took the loss, despite making six save in net for the Corsairs.
- Freshman Omar Castro-Dreher (Woonsocket, R.I.) captured on the win for the Beacons without recording a save.
- With the goal from Correia at the 65th minute, the Corsairs scored their first goal against the Beacons since a 3-0 victory for UMass Dartmouth in 2013. This was also the first goal that the Beacons have allowed in conference play this year.
- The Beacons outshot the Corsairs 18-4 and possessed a 10-3 in corners.
