How it Happened
The Corsairs jumped out to the early lead, when junior Haden Cordeiro (Dartmouth, Mass.) sprung Vidal past the Colonial defenders in the 20th minute. As Vidal broke through the back line of Western Connecticut, he deposited his shot into the lower right corner past goalkeeper Luca DiCarlo (Waterbury, Conn.)
The Colonials would even the score in the 83rd minute, when sophomore Chauncey Allers (Wilton, Conn.) corralled a long rebound, surprising the defense and burying the ball into the right bottom corner.
Four minutes later, Vidal would strike again, this time on a penalty kick. Vidal beat the Colonials keeper to the left side of the net, and the margin would hold through the final three minutes of physical play.
