Box Score 2 GORHAM, Maine – UMass Dartmouth Volleyball dropped a pair of matches in straight sets on Saturday, slipping 3-0 to Little East Conference foe Southern Maine before falling 3-0 to Brandeis at Hill Gymnasium.

How it Happened
The Corsairs dropped both matches to a score of 3-0, but were never too far out of either match on the day. Southern Maine came out swinging, posting a .274 team attack percentage, while Brandeis only managed a .165 percentage in the second match of the day.

Freshman Anita Sengara (Vancouver, British Columbia) led the Corsair offense with 14 kills in the opener. Senior Christina Spinazola (Medway, Mass.) set up the UMass Dartmouth offense, setting up 25 assists in the first match. Spinazola also added on the defensive side of things, chipping in nine digs.
Freshman libero Jillian Sykora (Waterford, Conn.) was strong defensively in the Corsair backcourt, posting team-high 10 digs.
On the other side of the net, all Husky players registered two or more kills. Southern Maine was led by junior Jess Williamson (Goffstown, N.H.) who tallied 14 kills, and tied a season-high with five aces. Fellow junior Robbi Termentozzi (Littleton, Colo.) led the Huskies with a season-high four blocks on the afternoon.
Brandeis 3, UMass Dartmouth 0
Sengara produced eight kills in the second match to pace UMass Dartmouth's offense. She was aided by freshman Taila Roberson (Norwalk, Conn.), who turned in five kills.
Spinazola increased her assist total with 18 in the second match of the day. Senior Kayla Kirby (Westport, Mass.) had a well-rounded match, picking up three kills, three blocks and a service ace.
Defensively, Sykora added 12 more digs to her total and collected a pair of service aces. The freshman libero was assisted by classmate Meghan Mullinax (Lake Balboa, Calif.) who contributed 11 digs.
Inside the Numbers
- Sengara has posted 10-plus kills in all but four matches this year.
- Saturday marks the third time this season that both Mullinax and Sykora recorded double-digit digs in a match.
