Radin's Hat Trick Boosts UMass Dartmouth to 8-0 Win Over Stonehill

Perrone. Pelton, Britner and Miller scored as well

CANTON, Mass. - Graduate student Dillon Radin netted his first-career hat trick in the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth's 8-0 victory over Stonehill College Saturday afternoon to finish the Curry College Tournament at the Canton Ice House.

The Corsairs (1-1-0) pick up their first win of the season and look forward to a meeting at Worcester State Thursday at 6:40 p.m., while the Skyhawks (0-2-0) will be at Assumption on Friday in their next game.

Junior Michael Perrone scored twice and added two assists, while junior Austin Miller had one goal and two assists. Senior Jimmy Pelton netted a goal with an assist, and senior Derek Britner sent one home as well.

Just like he did the night before, Perrone got things started with his second goal of the season just 1:49 into the game from Miller. Less than two minutes later and with the Corsairs short handed, Radin went unassisted for his first of the season, to extend the lead to 2-0, 3:35 into the first period.

Radin was right back at it just over three minutes later, this time his goal came off assists from Perrone and junior Jake Maynard. Pelton would make it a 4-0 advantage at the 18:57 mark of the first when he sent home his first of the season from graduate student Melker Kroon and Maynard.

Radin completed his hat trick only 33 seconds into the second period to make it 5-0. Helping out on the goal were Perrone and 5th-year senior Kai Kapossy.

Three more goals came in the third. UMass Dartmouth capitalized on its second short-handed score 1:13 into the period when Britner notched his first of the season off an assist from Pelton. Minutes later, with both teams at full strength, it was Perrone from Miller to extend the lead to 7-0.

The eighth goal of the night belonged to Miller at the 14:41 mark of the final period. Radin and Kapossy were credited with assists.

Junior goaltender Daniel Davidson posted his first shutout of the season with 19 saves.
