BRISTOL, R.I. -Â The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth women's soccer team had its chances, but came up short at Roger Williams, 3-0, Thursday night in Bristol, R.I.
The Corsairs (1-7-1) put up a strong fight, finishing with 11 shots with five on goal. The Hawks (8-4) came away with 16 shots, eight on goal, and seven corner kicks.
Junior goalkeeper
Kat Hubbard turned away five shots on the night.
RWU's junior Bianca Robbins netted a hat-trick with her first goal in the first half and two in the second.
Her first came in the 23rd minute. After taking the ball from 30 yards away, Robbins moved past a defender and scored from 12 yards out.
In the 69th minute, senior Sammy Jost sent a perfect through pass to Robbins who found herself one-on-one and sent it home.
Robbins' third goal of the night came on a penalty kick in the 71st minute to secure the victory.
UMass Dartmouth travels to New Hampshire on Saturday for a meeting with Keene State at 1 p.m.
