MILTON, Mass. -Â Playing in the second of a a three-match road trip, the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth women's tennis team defeated Curry College, 7-2, in Milton, Mass. Thursday afternoon.
The Corsairs (6-4), who had been struggling in doubles in their recent matches, took two out of three in pairs. The Colonels (2-9) have now lost seven consecutive matches.
"We played well from the bottom up. It was nice to have a lead after the doubles, but we could have had all three points," said Head Coach
Doug Chapman. "Curry's Sasha Borkov may be the strongest opponent we have seen this season. But our depth was the biggest difference."
UMass Dartmouth earned two points in doubles. The pair of senior

Alanna O'Connell won their match over freshmen Cayla Osowski and Grace Coopee (8-1). Senior
Jordan Beals and sophomore
Ailey Riddick defeated juniors Lily Turner-Burrell and Nicole Moreira (8-0).
The Corsairs won five singles matches. Securing victories were Senior
Emma Sokolovsky (6-4, 7-6, 7-3), Bokis (3-0, Ret.), O'Connell (6-1, 6-4), Riddick (6-3, 6-1) and junior
McKenzie Ferrari (6-0, 6-2).
UMass Dartmouth's next match is Saturday at noon at UMass Boston.
