BOSTON, Mass. - The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth tennis team fought hard in singles, but could not come back at UMass Boston, falling 5-4, Saturday afternoon on the road.
"It was a hard-fought match with potential playoff implications," said Head Coach 
Doug Chapman. "UMass Boston was very good up-top and we made it a tight match from the bottom up"
The Corsairs fell behind, 2-1, after doubles. The pair of senior 
Jordan Beals and sophomore 
Ailey Riddick defeated Tanya Kibiy and Meaghan Moriarty, 8-4. 
With work ahead of them, UMassD gave everything they had and nearly pulled off the victory. Senior 
Jackie Bokis defeated Elana Albano (6-1, 6-1). Riddick took down Moriarty in a close match (6-4, 7-5), while junior 
McKenzie Ferrari won her match against Skylar Robles (7-5, 6-2).
Junior 
Alanna O'Connell fell in a back-and-forth match to Evangelina Vassiliu (7-5, 3-6, 3-6).
The Corsairs play on their newly resurfaced courts on campus for the first time this season on Tuesday against Rhode Island College.
