Corsairs Close Season with Quarterfinal Loss at Keene State

Senior Hannah Steen Scored twice

KEENE, N.H. - The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth Field Hockey team fell in the quarterfinal round of the Little East Conference (LEC) Tournament, 8-3, at Keene State Tuesday night.

Tuesday marked the final career games for seniors Mikella DaSilva, Kylie Dias, Sam Fisher, Desarai Melendez, Brittany Perry, Hannah Steen and Lydia Stormwind.

Steen had the first multi-goal game of her career, while Perry notched her team leading 12th goal of the season to finish with 22 for her career.

Top-seeded Keene State put the game away early with three goals in the first quarter and added two more to begin the second. Steen put the Corsairs on the board just before halftime on a penalty stroke to make it 5-1.

Keene made it 6-1 in the third before Perry scored at the 36:48 mark. The Owls then tacked on another goal to take a 7-2 lead at the end of the quarter.

The home team then made it 8-2 in the fourth. Steen then converted on her second penalty stroke of the night to finish the scoring.

The Corsairs will now prepare for the 2022 season.
