Season Ends in Quarterfinal Round at WestConn

DANBURY, Conn. - The 2021 season came to a close for the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth men's soccer team at WestConn, 2-0, in the quarterfinal round of the Little East Conference (LEC) Tournament Tuesday night.

The match marked the final career game for seniors John Aguiar, Jake Castro, Will Cochran, Rony Morales, Uan O'Brien and Goncalo Roias. 

UMass Dartmouth finishes the season with a 7-7-2 overall record under first-year Head Coach Jason Burnett, including a signature win over Salve Regina. The future looks bright with many key contributors expected to return next season.

WestConn scored both of its goals in the first half. The first came in the 13th minute off the foot of senior Harrison Allers from sophomore Kent Eannarino. The second was in the 20th minute through sophomore Franz Muhaj from Allers.

Senior goalkeeper Jake Castro finished with five saves in the contest.

UMass Dartmouth will now prepare for the 2022 season.
