DARTMOUTH, Mass. -Â The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth swimming and diving team competed against Rhode Island College at the Tripp Athletic Center Saturday afternoon. RIC came away with a 154-65 victory.
Freshman
Piper Dienst had a great day in the pool with three first-place finishes. Dienst won the 200-yard freestyle (2:19.16), the 100-yard freestyle (1:02.33) and the 200-yard individual medley (2:40.43).
Sophomore
Rachel Kerrigan had a successful day as well. Kerrigan finished second in the 1000-yard freestyle (13:36.19), the 50-yard breaststroke (39.41) and the 100-yard breaststroke (1:25.01).
Senior
Olivia Shaw came in second in both the 50-yard freestyle (28.87) and the 50-yard butterfly (35.30). Also competing in the 50-yard freestyle were sophomoreÂ
Melia Bouramia, who came in third (30.42), and sophomoreÂ
Natalia Agrelo in fifth (31.75).
The 400-yard freestyle relay team of Shaw, Agrelo, Kerrigan and Dienst finished with a time of 4:24.87.
UMass Dartmouth is back at home against Elms on Saturday at 1 p.m.
