Women's Swimming Concludes Season at LEC Championships

Corsairs post 10th overall behind outstanding final night swims

WELLESLEY, Mass. – The UMass Dartmouth women's swimming team concluded its 2025-26 season on Sunday in the final night of the 2026 Little East Conference Championships – hosted at the Boston Sports Institute. The Corsairs finished 10th overall with 204 points over the three-day meet.
 
The meet for the Corsairs was highlighted by multiple personal record marks in every session, along with individuals advancing to the championship or consolation finals each evening.
 
Sunday's evening finals began with the 100-yard freestyle as rookie Abby Fernandes swam in the consolation finals of the event. The freshman posted a time of 58.29 to finish 10th overall. Fernandes posted a personal best time during the morning prelims (57.99).
 
Next up was the 1650-yard freestyle as senior Isabella Gerardi posted 14th overall with a personal record time of 21:16.07. Senior Kylie Winer – who hit a personal record in the morning prelims – notched another personal best in the championship final of the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:37.96.
 
Gerardi returned to the pool for the 200-yard butterfly, swimming in the consolation finals. She notched a personal record time of 2:38.11, eclipsing her previous personal best – set Sunday morning (2:39.62).
 
Rounding out the final session was junior Skye Peters, who competed in the championship swim of the 100-yard individual medley. Peters recorded a personal record time of 1:07.33 – eclipsing the morning prelim personal best (1:07.98).  
 
The meet concluded a strong season for the Corsairs, who finished 2-2 overall in dual meet action, while also posting sixth at the Bridgewater State Invitational.
