The host Corsairs (3-3, 3-2 LEC) jumped out to a 15-4 first quarter advantage after the visiting Owls (1-2, 1-2 LEC) missed nine of their first 10 attempts from the field, as Donovan netted seven points in the opening 20 minutes of play to stake UMass Dartmouth to a 33-22 edge at the break. Caroline Wilson (Forestdale, Mass.) sparked a decisive 17-6 run over a 4:12 stretch that ended with the Corsairs holding a 50-30 lead with 3:43 remaining in the third stanza. The hosts extended that margin to 24 points (56-32) heading into the final frame, as the visitors got no closer than 18 points in the closing minutes of action.
