WILLIMANTIC, Conn.— Eastern Connecticut State University scored three goals within a seven-minute span early in the second half to earn a 6-0 victory over visiting University of Massachusetts Dartmouth this afternoon in a Little East Conference women's soccer match at Rick McCarthy Field.
The Warriors earned their first win of the season to raise their overall record to 1-1, while the Corsairs slipped below .500 with a 1-2 mark.
Eastern Connecticut Victoria Roman (Mexico City, Mexico) cracked the scoring column in the 23rd minute with an unassisted tally to provide the hosts with all the offensive support they would need. It looked like the Warriors would take the one-goal advantage into the halftime intermission, but first-year Fabiola Millien-Faustin (Stratford, Conn.) potted her first goal of the campaign in the 44th minute to extend the lead to 2-0.
The Warriors broke open the conference contest early in the second stanza, when first-year Lindsay Fishman (South Windsor, Conn.) assisted on classmate Ashlyn Rodgers (Portsmouth, R.I.) marker before registering her first goal of the campaign. Sophomore Juliette Hogan (Preston, Conn.) capped the three-goal surge with her first of the season in the 56th minute. Eastern Connecticut would add an insurance marker in the 81st minute to close out the scoring.

Jaimee O'Brien (West Springfield, Mass.) played all 90 minutes in the net for the visitors and recorded six saves. First-year Rachel Hughes (Columbia, Conn.) collected the victory for the Warriors with a pair of stops.
UMass Dartmouth will return to action at 6pm on Thursday, April 22, when the Corsairs travel Keene State College (2-0) in a Little East Conference match.
