Women’s Lacrosse Fall to Undefeated WestConn

DANBURY, Conn.- University of Massachusetts Dartmouth first-year Tahlia Amaral (Acushnet, Mass.) made 11 saves for the Corsairs, but it wasn't enough to stop the unbeaten Western Connecticut State University as the Corsairs fell 21-2

Amaral made 11 saves for the second time this season, making this the fifth double-digit save game for the Acushnet native. Both UMassD goals came from junior Bella Mancini (Bellingham, Mass.) with an assist on the first goal junior Hannah Niemi (Fairhaven, Mass.). Mancini leads the Corsairs with 12 goals on the season.

WestConn was lead by first-year Victoria Gracy (Bethel, Conn.) and sophomore Colleen Foley (Kingston, Mass.). The pair combined for eight of the team's 21 goals while junior Dominique DeMarsico (New Fairfield, Conn.) knotched a hat trick. WestConn remains undefeated on the season, sitting in the top spot of the Little East Conference.
The Corsairs return to action Saturday, April 24th at 12:00PM as they host Rhode Island College for their season finale. Fans can catch the action at littleeast.tv/umassd.
