Andrew Bryant (Canton, Mass.) doubled down the right field line to stake the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth to an early two-run advantage, but Rhode Island College rallied to defeat the Corsairs 5-3 this afternoon in a NCAA Division III baseball contest at Pontarelli Field.

JR DiSarcina (Barnstable, Mass.) each registered a pair of base knocks to lead the visitors seven-hit attack. Bryant recorded his third multi-hit game in his past six contests, while DiSarcina has hit safely in seven on his past eight games. Junior
Zak Souza (Fall River, Mass.) belted his first collegiate home run—a solo shot—to tie the ballgame at 3 in the sixth.
First-year Cameron Santerre (Bristol, R.I.) paced the Rhode Island College (17-8) attack with a 2-for-3 showing at the plate. Classmate David Iannuccill (Johnston, R.I.) made his only hit of the afternoon count with a two-run double in the fourth to give the hosts a 3-2 advantage.
The Anchormen took their final lead in the sixth, when sophomore Joey Coro (North Providence, R.I.) walked, stole second, and advanced to third on a wild pitch. Junior Nick D'Ambra (Coventry, R.I.) hit a run-scoring ground out to first base. Rhode Island College tacked on an insurance run in the seventh with a lead-off triple and sacrifice fly.
Sophomore Colin Gauthier (Pawtucket, R.I.) (2-0) tossed third innings in relief to earn the win, allowing one run on two hits. Junior Shaun Gamelin (West Kingston, R.I.) struck out the side in order for the second consecutive contest to post his fourth save of the season
