Kylie Fletcher (Dartmouth, Mass.) hit her first homerun of the season in game one of today's doubleheader sweep of Western Connecticut State University.

WestConn jumped out to an early lead on an RBI single from senior Annie Rosa (Washington, Conn.) in the top of the first. The Corsairs countered in the bottom of the third inning as senior
Jill Richards (Kingston, Mass.) ripped a triple to right field that brought in classmate
Leah Major (Fairhaven, Mass.). Major came home once again in the bottom of the fifth as an RBI single from Fletcher gave the Corsairs a 2-1 lead. Junior
Lindsay Chubbuck ripped a single up the middle that brought in Fletcher and Richards crossed the plate as senior
Julia Sorrentino (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.) reached on an error.
UMassD headed into the bottom of the sixth with a 4-1 lead and tacked on some insurance. A sacrifice fly from freshman
Dyonna Rodas (Warwick, R.I.) brought home sophomore
Lynsie Miracle (Richland, Wash.). With one on and two, Fletcher stepped up to the plate and ripped a two-run homerun to right field. The Corsairs secured the 7-1 victory with a three up, three down seventh inning.
Richards earned his sixth straight win from the circle, allowing just four hits and striking out three. Sophomore Hailey Golembiewski (Columbia, Conn.) was tasked with the loss for WestConn, going five innings for the visitors.
GAME 2 | UMassD 4, WestConn 0
The Corsairs found the board in the bottom of the third inning. Rodas ripped a single up the left field line and found herself in scoring position as Major stepped up to the plate. Major lined a triple to right field and brought Rodas home.
UMassD extended their lead in the bottom of the fourth. Sophomore
Victoria Rossetti (Valley Stream, N.Y.) drove in Richards as she reached on an error. Rodas sent a two-run double to center to secure the 4-0 scoreline.
Freshman
Kaitlyn Shirshac (Enfield, Conn.) earned her third win of the season, allowing just three hits and striking out six.
