NORTON, Mass. -Â The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth field hockey team fell 3-0 at Wheaton College Tuesday night.
The Corsairs (1-2) will now get ready for a home contest against Salve Regina on Thursday at 7 p.m., while the Lyons (1-2) will face Nichols on the road on Saturday.

Jenna Carvalho had one shot on goal for UMassD. For Wheaton, junior Sekarchi, freshman Lydia Gaudreau, and senior Lindsay Janeczek scored goals.
The Lyons scored twice in the first quarter. Shekarchi found the back of net just three minutes into the game. After four more shot attempts over the next 11 minutes, Gaudreau extended the lead to 2-0 in the final seconds of the opening frame.
Carvalho had the first shot for either side in the second quarter at the 20:22 mark, but it was saved by Wheaton's Emma Lapreziosa. Janeczek then fired back with 26:34 on the clock and built the Lyon lead to 3-0.
The Corsairs defense stepped up, allowing only four shots in the second half, but the 3-0 score would stand, as Wheaton grabbed the win on its home field.
