Corsairs Look Forward to 2022-23 Season

Corsairs Return 15, Bring in 12 Freshmen

DARTMOUTH, Mass. – The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth hockey program will begin its 49th varsity season on Friday against UMass Boston. Head Coach Erik Noack returns for his seventh season at the helm and the team looks to improve on their 9-14-2 record from the 2021-22 season.

Last season, the Corsairs went 9-14-2 overall, with a conference record of 6-10-2.

UMassD returns 15 members of the team who have previous playing experience and have 14 newcomers looking to make an impact, including 12 freshmen.

The Corsairs did lose their two high-point-scorers from last year in Dillon Radin and Kai Kapossy. Among the offensive returners from the 2021-22 season are senior Michael Perrone (9-10-19), junior Michael Mania (8-6-14) and junior Dominic Dumas (1-9-10).

Returning on the blueline are seniors Jake Maynard (2-15-17), Stephon Perreault (0-5-5), Sky Silverstein (1-3-4) and Tanner Opie, junior Cade Hanley (2-5-7), and sophomore Tim Kippenberger (2-2-4).

Senior goaltender Daniel Davidson returns after recording a 5-5-2 record in his starts last season with one clean sheet. This year he will be joined by freshmen Marshall McKallip and Pat Aalto.

The Corsairs begin their season on Friday against UMass Boston. MASCAC play begins against Worcester State (Nov. 3) at Hetland Arena. The team then has six more non-conference contests as the year goes on.
