DARTMOUTH, Mass. - In a game that some picked against them, the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth football team took care of business against Bridgewater State, 48-7, Saturday afternoon at Cressy Field.
Prior to the game, the Corsairs (8-1, 7-0 MASCAC) honored their 12 seniors:

UMass Dartmouth is now one win, or one Plymouth State loss, away from clinching the MASCAC Championship, while the Bears (4-4, 4-2 MASCAC) fall to fourth place in the conference standings.
The Corsairs piled up 627 total yards and held Bridgewater State to 223 yards. JuniorÂ
Dante Aviles-Santos threw for 349 yards and a touchdown to sophomore
Thomas Zednik, who went for 100 receiving yards with his TD. On the ground, sophomore
Jalyn Aponte rushed for 132 yards and touchdown, senior
Luis Gonzalez went for 83 yards and three TD's and junior
Richarno Hylton picked up 64 yards and two TD's.
Defensively, 5th-year senior
JP Mason led the team with eight tackles, while Kolodko, freshman
Hassan Gaye and senior
Josh Lacerte all had one sack. Lacerte's was a strip sack.
UMass Dartmouth scored in its first drive of the game. On fourth down, Gonzalez first hauled in a one-handed grab for 13 yards and then took it in himself from one yard to make it a 7-0 game with 9:23 on the clock.
The Corsairs made it 14-0 on their second drive. Aviles-Santos connected with Zednik for a 63-yard pass and catch, and Hylton went for 13 yards on the ground to extend the lead at the 5:03 mark of the first.
Aviles-Santos found Little for 21 yards, sophomore
Easten Coleman for 11, and sophomore
Angel Sanchez for 15 more to set up a one-yard score for Gonzalez to push the advantage to 21-0 to start the second quarter. Minutes later, a 46-yard pass to Sanchez put the Corsairs in excellent field position for a five-yard Zednik TD reception to make it a 28-0 game.
Aponte did most of the damage in the next scoring drive with a 47-yard rush and a one-yard TD to push the lead to 35-0 at halftime.
UMass Dartmouth scored on its first drive of the second half after an 18-yard pass to Zednik, 17 yards to DeLeon, and 29 yards to sophomore
Jonathan Brightman to set up a seven-yard rushing TD for Hylton to make it 41-0.
After Bridgewater State scored on a 38-yard passing TD, Gonzalez rushed home his third touchdown of the day in the fourth quarter to finish things off.
UMass Dartmouth has its bye-week and will prepare for the potential MASCAC Championship Game at Plymouth State on Saturday, Nov. 12 at 12 p.m.
