BEVERLY, Mass. -Â Endicott scored eight runs in the first two innings to hand the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth baseball team a 13-2 setback Wednesday afternoon at North Field.
Juniors
DJ Perron and
Andrew Bryant each had two hits in the game. Perron drove in both of the Corsairs' runs in the third inning with a double.
Endicott took a 3-0 lead in the first on a two-RBI dingle and an error. Five more runs crossed the plate for the Gulls in the second, this time on another two-RBI base hit and a three-run triple.
Freshman
Scott Cromack started the Corsair offense in the third with a one-out single, freshman
Devyn Vezina drew a walk and Bryant loaded the bases with a base hit to center field. Perron then stepped up to the plate and doubled down the left field line to score Cromack and Vezina to bring the score to 8-2.
Freshman
Andrew Steinhubel kept the Gulls scoreless over the next two innings, but a two-run home run in the fifth, and three more runs in the eighth finished things off.
UMass Dartmouth is on the road again at Wheaton at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.
