BOSTON, Mass. -Â UMass Boston scored seven runs in the first inning to take down the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth baseball team, 10-7, Tuesday night at Monan Park.
The Corsairs (11-16, 2-6 LEC) brought home six runs in the fifth, but the Beacons (19-6, 8-0 LEC) added two more in the sixth and one in the seventh to put an end to UMass Dartmouth's comeback attempt.

Scott Cromack all finished with two hits for the Corsairs.
UMass Boston's seven runs in the first came on back-to-back singles, a two-run base hit, and a triple with the bases loaded.
It took until the fifth for the Corsairs to put up its first six runs. Stafford led off the inning with triple and scored on a wild pitch, Bryant then singled in freshman
Devyn Vezina, who walked earlier in the frame. The next three runs came on a bases-loaded hit by pitch, an error, and a double play that allowed a man to cross the plate.
An RBI double and a Corsairs error allowed the Beacons to extend its lead to 9-6 in the sixth, and a passed ball made it 10-6 in the seventh.
After Stafford doubled to start the eighth and took third on a passed ball, an RBI groundout from Cromack brought home the final run of the day.

Chase Carey (2.0 IP, 0 ER, 2 K), and graduate student
Logan Maitland (1.0 IP, 0 ER, 0 H, 1 K, 2 BB) did not allow an earned run out of the bullpen.
