DARTMOUTH, Mass. -Â Sophomore
Kaitlyn Shirshac picked up her 10th win of the year with a complete-game shutout where she only allowed one hit with nine strikeouts as the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth softball team scooted past Roger Williams, 2-0, Wednesday afternoon in the final home game of the regular season.
Seniors
Averi Soares and
Lindsay Chubbuck each finished 2-for-3 at the plate for the Corsairs (23-8-1), while sophomore
Hailey Lyons drove in senior
Marisa Minore. 5th-year senior
Leah Major also scored for the home team. The Hawks drop to 6-23 this season.
Shirchac started the game on fire as she struck out the side in the top of the first, and added two more K's in the second. Shirshac kept it going with one strikeout each in the third, fourth, and fifth innings.
UMass Dartmouth broke the stalemate in the home half of the fifth. Senior

Shirchac struck out one more in the sixth, and forced a pair of groundouts and a popout to finish things off.
UMass Dartmouth is at Keene State for a doubleheader on Friday at 3 and 5 p.m.
