DARTMOUTH, Mass. -Â The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth women's soccer team was delivered a 4-0 setback by Wentworth Tuesday night at Cressy Field.
The Corsairs drop to 2-2 on the season, while the Leopards improve to 3-2-1. Graduate student
Kait Bernier led the home team with three shots and one on goal. Sophomore
Caroline McAuliffe and freshman
Antonella Goncalves each had one shot on goal as well.
Scoring for Wentworth were junior Lauren Bradley, grad student Diana Bruggeman, sophomore Jenny Montville and freshman Meghan Barilone.
Bradley got things started in the fourth minute with a free-kick goal from 30 yards out that sailed over the head of the keeper.Â
The score would remain 1-0 until the second half when Wentworth scored three times in the final 27 minutes of the game. In the 63rd minute, Bruggeman received a pass from Montville and made it a 2-0 advantage. Montville extended the lead to 3-0 in the 79th minute and Barilone scored the final goal in the 84th minute off an assist from Montville.
UMass Dartmouth plays its first Little East Conference match of the season against Plymouth State at Cressy Field on Friday at 7 p.m.
