MANSFIELD CITY, Conn. - The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth men's soccer team's conference matchup with Eastern Connecticut ended in a 0-0 draw. After their fourth tie of the season, the Corsairs move to 1-11-4 overall with an 0-5-2 Little East Conference record, while the Warriors move to 5-6-3 and hold a 3-3-1 conference record.
UMass Dartmouth's stout defensive line, headed by the sophomore pair of
Jed Theilman and
Sam Gagner, held strong throughout the contest. This game marks the second shutout of the season by the Corsairs. In goal for UMass Dartmouth was senior
Jack Waterhouse, who was kept busy seeing 17 total shots over 90 minutes of work and made 11 saves.
Eastern Connecticut held the shot advantage over the Corsairs, tallying 17 total shots including 12 that were on-target, while UMass Dartmouth attempted seven shots with four going on-goal. In the net for Eastern was senior Dylan Pallanck. He played the full 90 minutes and stopped all four UMD scoring attempts.
The UMass Dartmouth men's soccer team returns to the pitch on Tuesday, Oct. 24, when they travel to Buzzards Bay, Mass. for a 7:00pm meeting with Mass. Maritime.
