Box Score <strong>DARTMOUTH, Mass. - </strong>The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth women's soccer team opened their 2023 home schedule with a draw, stalemating Suffolk University 0-0 on Cressy Field. The Corsairs move to 2-0-1 while the Rams begin their year 1-0-1. <br />

After a scoreless first half, the Corsairs were able to find a few good looks at the goal in the back half of play. During the 56<sup>th</sup> minute of action, UMass Dartmouth freshman
Amanda Thompson, who has two goals and an assist already for the season, ripped a shot towards the upper right part of the net. It took a diving save from Rams' freshman goalkeeper, Arden Ferrari-Henry, to stop Thompson from giving the Corsairs the lead. <br />

UMass Dartmouth had another chance very late, when freshman
Haley Rutherford had a great look on a header opportunity from a corner kick in the 88<sup>th</sup> minute. Rutherford's shot was blocked by a Suffolk defender before getting cleared out of the zone. The clock ticked away as the two evenly-matched opponents heard the final whistle blow on a scoreless night. <br />

Grace Conti continues to thrive as the reigning LEC Goalie of the Week goes another game without allowing a score. Ferrari-Henry had a good game in net for the Rams, stopping multiple good opportunities from the Corsairs' offense. <br />

UMass Dartmouth women's soccer team returns to the pitch on Friday, Sept. 8, when they host Curry College on Cressy Field. Kickoff is scheduled for 7pm. <br />
