BRIDGEWATER, Mass. – The UMass Dartmouth women's tennis team was bested by Bridgewater State University, 9-0, on Friday afternoon during Little East Conference (LEC) action. The Corsairs fall to a 2-3 record in conference play while the Bears now own a 4-1 LEC record with the win.
The Bears picked up an early 2-0 advantage in doubles action with victories in No. 3 and No. 2 doubles, respectively. Sophomore

Emma Collings battled in No. 1 doubles, but were edged by a final score of 8-6 to trail 3-0 heading into singles play.
Bridgewater State continued to extend their lead securing early wins in No. 6 and No. 5 singles to go ahead 5-0. Now trailing 6-0 following a loss at No. 4 singles, junior
Zuri Walters contested with her Bears counterpart in the No. 2 singles spot. She fell behind in the first set, 6-4, before the home team sealed a 7-0 lead with a 6-1 win in the second set.
Gonzalez and Collings each battled in No. 1 and No. 3 singles, respectively, for the Corsairs, but Bridgewater State claimed their fourth conference win over UMass Dartmouth by a final score of 9-0.
The Corsairs have a quick turnaround hosting the Wolves of Eastern Connecticut State University on Saturday, Oct. 5 for their Senior Dat match. The LEC tilt is slated for a 1:00 pm start time from the Corsairs Tennis Courts.
