Six Corsairs Earn CSC Academic All-District Honors

DARTMOUTH, Mass. – The College Sports Communicators (CSC) released the 2024 Academic All-District Teams for women's soccer featuring six student-athletes from the UMass Dartmouth women's soccer team. Graduate student midfielder Ashlyn Rogers, senior captain Caroline McAuliffe, senior captain Kaitlyn Nguyen, senior captain Bella Rita, junior defender Veronica Bock, and sophomore captain Adriana Adames were each selected to the CSC Academic All-District team for their efforts on the field and in the classroom.
 
Rogers joined UMass Dartmouth for the 2024 season after transferring from Eastern Connecticut State University. She made an immediate impact on the team playing in 17 of the Corsairs 18 games this year including eight starts. Rogers scored her lone goal of the season on Oct. 19 against Vermont State University Castleton to give UMass Dartmouth the 2-1 edge over the Spartans and secure their second consecutive conference win. She finished the season with 10 total shots with seven on frame for a 70.0 on-goal shooting percentage.
 
A native of Pembroke, McAuliffe finished her senior season playing in 15 total games along with 13 starts in 2024. She recorded one goal on the year for two points and accumulated 728 total minutes of action. She aided the Corsairs defense throughout the season playing primarily as an outside back. McAuliffe notched her only goal of the season on Sept. 18 at Worcester Polytechnic Institute for a pair of points.
 
The senior defender concluded her career as a Corsair starting in 64 of the 66 total games she played in racking up 4,894 total minutes of action. She scored four goals and dished out one assist for nine points along with 23 total shots. She also owns a 2-for-2 record on penalty kicks during her four seasons at UMass Dartmouth.  
 
Nguyen also had a strong performance in her final season wearing the Corsair uniform. The senior midfielder capped off her career at UMass Dartmouth playing in 17 of the 18 games including 16 starts with 1,112 total minutes of action in 2024. Nguyen tallied a goal and two assists this season for a career-high four points. She also matched her career-high with 18 shot attempts including 11 on target for a 61.1 on-goal shooting percentage. The New Fairfield native dished out her first assist of the season on Aug. 31 against Salem State to defeat the Vikings 3-0 at home. Her best game was on Sept. 14 at Massachusetts Maritime Academy aiding UMass Dartmouth to a 3-1 victory after recording a goal and an assist for the first time in her career for a career-high three points.
 
Nguyen finished her collegiate career with three goals and three assists for nine points across 59 total games for UMass Dartmouth. She posted 52 total shots, including 29 on frame, for the Corsairs and accumulated 3,732 total minutes of play over four seasons.
 
Rita played in all 18 games for the Corsairs during her senior season earning two starts in 2024. She wrapped up her final season with over 500 minutes logged and recorded a career-high 12 total shots along with five shots on target for UMass Dartmouth. Rita played in 64 total games for the Corsairs over the course of her career, tallying one assist, 26 shots, and 2,397 total minutes of action.
 
Bock earns her second consecutive CSC Academic All-District honor following her junior season. She started in all 17 games she played for UMass Dartmouth in 2024 including 12 games she played the entire 90 minutes. The junior defender became a dependable center back for the Corsairs defense with 1,403 minutes logged, good for third most minutes played on the squad this season. Her defensive efforts aided UMass Dartmouth to one of their best seasons in six years.
 
Adames, a 2024 Little East Second Team All-Conference selection, started in all 18 games for the Corsairs scoring a career-high three goals for six total points. She netted her first collegiate goal on Sept. 25 against Framingham State University and went on to score her second to secure the 2-0 win over the Rams. Adames later found the back of the net for the third time versus Rhode Island College on Oct. 16 to seal UMass Dartmouth's first conference win.
 
Her three goals led the 2024 squad in addition to netting two game-winners which tied for ninth overall in the LEC. She was one of three Corsairs to earn all 18 starts during the 2024 campaign accumulating a team-high 1,549 minutes of play. On the defensive end, Adames played a critical role in the Corsairs backline limiting opponents to a 14.2 shots percentage and a 2.61 goals per game average. The Farmingdale native also aided the Corsairs to one of their most successful seasons since the 2018 campaign.
