PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The UMass Dartmouth women's swimming team took to the pool for their final dual meet of the 2023-24 season, competing at Rhode Island College on Saturday afternoon. The Corsairs posted three victories on the day, shouldering the 162-48 loss to the Anchorwomen.
Sophomore Ella Gerardi was the victor in the 400-yard individual medley, touching the wall in a time of 5:31.65. Classmate
Kylie Winer went on to finish second in the 100-yard breaststroke with a mark of 1:18.94, while senior
Savannah Platt was third in the event with a time of 1:33.19.
Gerardi then claimed victory in the 200-yard butterfly, posting a time of 2:41.94, as Platt went on to take second in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 32.56.
Winer was the winner in the 100-yard freestyle, touching in a time of 1:01.54, going on to earn second in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:50.74. Gerardi posted fourth in the event with a time of 3:06.17.
Platt rounded out the afternoon, earning second in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:32.09.
The Corsairs are back in action February 16-18 when they compete at the 2024 Little East Championships, held at the Boston Sports Institute. Prelims get underway at 10am each day, with finals at 5pm each evening.
