NEW LONDON, Conn. – The UMass Dartmouth women's track and field team saw four student-athletes in action on Friday night, competing at the Silfen Invitational at Connecticut College. Pacing the way were collegiate-best efforts from three different Corsairs.
The night opened with the 800-meter run as sophomore
Tori Schweitzer ran to 18th overall with a time of 2:44.70. The 1500-meter run was next as junior
Julia Latura notched a collegiate-best time of 5:18.69 to earn an 18th place finish.
In the final event of the night – the 10000-meters – junior
Bee Greenberg crossed the finish line in a collegiate best time of 40:16.30 which was good for 16th overall. Rookie
Sarah Lynch – competing in their first collegiate 10k – was close behind in 18th, recording a time of 43:13.23. It marked performances that rank eighth and 10th all-time, respectively, in UMass Dartmouth program history.
The Corsairs women's team is back in action tomorrow at the Jerry Gravel Invitational, hosted by Westfield State. Field events get underway at 10am with the track events starting at 12pm.
