MILTON, Mass. - The UMass Dartmouth women's tennis team swept Curry College, 7-0, on Saturday afternoon during their season opener in Milton, Mass. The Corsairs kickoff their 2024 campaign 1-0 after handing the Colonels their first loss of the year.

Emma Collings paired up in No. 1 doubles to defeat Ella Hurley and Sam Ferrara by a 6-3 final score to secure a 1-0 lead for the Corsairs heading into singles action.Â
Gonzalez dominated in No. 1 singles defeating Hurley by a score of 6-2, 6-0 to put UMass Dartmouth up 3-0. Walters and Collings also picked up wins against their opponents in No. 2 and No. 3 singles spots, respectively. Sophomore
Saige Croce battled against Kaitlyn Foster in No. 5 singles after falling in the first set 7-6. Croce bounced back in set two winning 6-2 before cementing the win with a 10-5 victory in the third set. Beltran secured the sweep for the Corsairs following her 7-6, 6-3 win in No. 4 singles over Cayla Osowski to defeat Curry by a final score of 7-0.
UMass Dartmouth host Lesley University on Tuesday, Sept. 3 for their season home opener match scheduled to begin at 3:30 pm from Corsairs Tennis Courts. Â
