DARTMOUTH, Mass. – The UMass Dartmouth women's tennis team took down Clark University by a final score of 4-3 on Tuesday afternoon to continue their unbeaten streak. The Corsairs improved to a 4-0 overall record this season with the victory over the Cougars who suffered their first loss of the year.

Sofia Beltran secured the first win on No. 1 doubles defeating their opponents 6-3. Sophomores
Maddie Gonzalez and
Saige Croce sealed the Corsairs 1-0 lead heading into singles play after handing Crisi Patel and Amanda Keith a 6-4 loss in the No. 2 doubles spot.
UMass Dartmouth soon fell behind after Amy Marin and Varvara Maltseva picked up wins in No. 6 and No. 5 singles, respectively. Croce battled in the opening set against Patel in No. 4 singles and would even the match up at 2-2 with her 7-5, 6-2 victory.
Keith regained the Cougars advantage after forcing a third set in No. 3 singles to make it 3-2. Walters even the score again for UMass Dartmouth with her 6-1, 7-5 win over Merielle Kane in No. 2 singles action to set up Gonzalez as the deciding point.
Gonzalez won the first set by a 6-2 margin before falling in the second set 6-4 against her Cougar counterpart Larkin Gardinier. After falling behind 2-0 in the final set, Gonzalez would go on to win the next six straight points to clinch the Corsairs win by a 4-3 final score.
The Corsairs are on the road for their second Little East Conference matchup against Plymouth State University on Saturday, Sept. 14 starting at 1:00 pm.
