PLYMOUTH, N.H. – The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth women's swimming team returned to action from winter break to compete at Plymouth State University along with Maine Maritime Academy on Thursday afternoon from the PSU Natatorium. The Corsairs were paced by junior
Kylie Winer who took first place in three events on the day.
Winer's first victory of the meet was in the 200-yard freestyle securing the win with a time of 1:19.36. She went on to win the 100-yard breaststroke after clocking in at 1:19.36 before capturing her third victory of the day in the 100-yard individual medley posting a time of 1:12.31.
Junior Ella Gerardi had a strong performance at Plymouth earning a pair of second place finishes. She clocked in at 2:41.20 in the 200-yard individual medley to claim second overall and later competed in the 50-yard butterfly posting a time of 31.45, also good for second place.
In the 100-yard backstroke, sophomore
Skye Peters took second place with a time of 1:13.32. Peters also secured third place finishes in the 50-yard freestyle and 100 yard freestyle events.
First year
Emiyah Setalsingh saw her best performances of the day in the 50-yard backstroke and 50-yard butterfly, securing third overall in both events. She also competed in the 100-yard butterfly clocking in at 1:15.79 to take fourth place.
UMass Dartmouth travels to the University of New England for their next meet on Saturday, Jan. 25. The competition is scheduled to begin at 12:00 p.m. from the Campus Center Pool.
