BOSTON, Mass. – The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth men's soccer team were bested in the regular season finale at UMass Boston, 4-0, in Little East Conference (LEC) play on Wednesday afternoon. The Corsairs finished the regular season with 7-8-3 overall record along with a 3-3-2 conference mark while the Beacons moved to a 5-1-2 league record.
UMass Boston were on the attack early after Ryan Lima fired a shot that redirected off the woodwork in the opening two minutes of action. A couple minutes later, Corsairs goalkeeper
Ethan Donahue posted his first save of the afternoon to deny a strike by Felipe Andrade while junior captain
Mario Rodriguez ripped the first pair of shots for UMass Dartmouth. Crossing the opening 20 minutes of action, the Beacons offense continued to apply pressure leading to the first goal of the game by Rafael Gross at the 24:17 mark to give the home team a 1-0 edge.
Rodriguez responded for the Corsairs by drilling a strike on target to force the first stop of the contest by Beacons goalkeeper Mario Hajhdi. After sophomore defender
Brennan Hill tested Hajhdi with a shot on frame, UMass Boston doubled their advantage thanks to a goal by John Arruda to take a 2-0 lead into halftime.
The Beacons started the second half strong after Arruda posted his second goal of the game at the 52:18 mark to extend their lead to 3-0. Sophomore forward

Leonardo Alfama each answered with a shot for the Corsairs. The Beacons went on to seal the victory with a late score by Ryan Doherty enroute to a 4-0 win over the Corsairs in the regular season finale.
UMass Boston outshot UMass Dartmouth 29-6 and held an 11-2 shots on-goal differential in the contest. The Beacons also won the corner kick battle with six in the game compared to the Corsairs with one corner kick.
Rodriguez led the squad with three shots including one on frame against the Beacons while Hill, Jordan, and Alfama each registered one shot apiece. In net, Donahue produced seven total saves and allowed four goals to finish the regular season with a 6-6-2 record.
UMass Dartmouth awaits final results throughout the league for their seeding in the 2025 Little East Conference Tournament.
