Women's Soccer Tripped Up in Regular Season Finale Against UMass Boston

DARTMOUTH, Mass. – The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth women's soccer team were tripped up in their regular season finale against UMass Boston on Wednesday afternoon by a final score of 3-0. The Corsairs finished the 2025 season with a 7-8-3 overall record and a 2-5-1 mark in Little East Conference (LEC) action while the Beacons improved to a 4-3-1 league record.
 
First year midfielder Reianna Murray fired two of the opening three strikes for UMass Dartmouth in the first 15 minutes of action from Cressy Field. Shortly after, first year goalkeeper Marina Cassano, making her 13th start in net for the Corsairs, posted her first save of the afternoon to deny a shot by Amanda Regan. Senior midfielder Ashlyn Aguiar produced a pair of long-range efforts along with shot on frame by classmate Veronica Bock to force a stop by Beacons goalkeeper Gwyn Morre midway through the first half.
 
Cassano recorded two saves in the final ten minutes of play to keep the game knotted up at 0-0 heading into the break. UMass Dartmouth generated early attacking chances to start the second half of the conference tilt featuring a shot on target by first year's Kiariana Williams and Ainsley Christensen. In the 51st minute, the Beacons capitalized on a corner kick set piece as Allie Kondash headed the ball into the back of the net to give the visitors a 1-0 edge.
 
Christensen responded for the Corsairs shortly after with shot from distance that redirected off the crossbar. Alexis Williamson soon doubled UMass Boston's advantage with her score at the 66th minute to make it a 2-0 game. UMass Dartmouth continued to battle as Williams fired two quick shots followed by a strike on-goal from junior forward Madison Depina that Moore was able to save. The Beacons cemented their road win with a late score by Sofia Schallmo on a breakaway enroute to a 3-0 victory over the Corsairs.
 
Although the Corsairs outshot the Beacons by a 21-16 margin, the visitors held a 10-5 edge in shots on-goal in the game. UMass Boston earned five total corner kicks compared to UMass Dartmouth with just one on the afternoon. The Beacons also committed 13 fouls in the contest while the Corsairs were called for seven fouls.
 
Aguiar finished the game with a team-high six shots after playing the entire game for UMass Dartmouth. Williams posted 1-of-5 strikes on frame while Murray registered four total shots in the regular season finale. Christensen wrapped up the game with three shots including one on target.
 
Cassano concludes the season with a 5-7-3 overall record in net for UMass Dartmouth after making seven stops and allowing three goals in the home loss. Moore earned the shutout for UMass Boston after producing five total saves in net.
