DARTMOUTH, Mass. – The UMass Dartmouth women's tennis team shouldered a tough loss in Little East action on Saturday, falling 6-1 to Bridgewater State. The Corsairs are now 7-3 overall and suffer their first LEC loss to move to 4-1. The Bears are now 6-4 overall with a 4-1 conference mark.
Doubles action kicked things off at the UMass Dartmouth tennis courts as the Bears duo of Emma Gibney and Sarah Pothier posted a 6-0 win over the Corsairs senior

Bridgewater State then posted the victory at three – a 6-0 decision – as Samantha Bettencourt and Fiona Clancy bested sophomore

Shifting to singles action, BSU opened with a 6-0, 6-0 win at four as Pothier defeated Tobias. That was followed by a win at six as Bettencourt posted a 6-1, 6-2 victory against graduate student
Kayli Langan.
The Bears saw their next win come at two as Kelliher earned a 6-0, 6-0 win against Dean. At five, Alves was the victor, posting a 6-1, 6-3 win over Alves. It was a battle at three that saw Smith nab a 7-5, 6-3 win over Corsairs junior
Sofia Beltran.
UMass Dartmouth picked up its long win at one as Walters bested Gibney by a 6-3, 6-3 margin.
The Corsairs return to action on Wednesday when they host Salve Regina in the Corsairs Game of the Week. Action is set for 3pm.
