PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Little East Conference (LEC) released its 2025 year-end awards for men's soccer, and the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth coaching staff was selected as the LEC Men's Soccer Coaching Staff of the Year, as announced on Tuesday afternoon.

Kyle Rhines, became the fifth men's soccer staff in program history to earn LEC Coaching Staff of the Year honors.
The Corsairs finished with a 7-9-4 overall record including a 3-3-2 mark in conference action. It marked the first time since the 2021 campaign the team has reached seven total victories in a single season. The 2025 squad also owned an impressive 6-2-1 home record marking the most home wins in a single season since 2019.
In just his second season at the helm, Schaefer and his staff guided the Corsairs to their first Little East postseason appearance since 2021 after earning the No. 5 seed. UMass Dartmouth defeated No. 4 seeded Eastern Connecticut State University in the LEC First Round in a thrilling penalty shootout (4-3) to advance to the LEC Semifinals for the first time in over 12 seasons. The Corsairs incredible postseason run came to an end after shouldering a tough 2-0 loss to top-seeded Western Connecticut State University on November 5.
Against Little East opponents, UMass Dartmouth tied for third with three game-winning goals in 2025. The Corsairs also ranked fourth overall against conference opponents in shots on-goal (47), shots on-goal per game (5.88), total saves (33), and saves per game (4.13). UMass Dartmouth registered 102 total shots to average12.75 shots per conference tilt, both good for fifth overall.
