Maddy Allen tallied her 100
th career point for the UMass Dartmouth women's lacrosse team during Saturday's first Little East Conference (LEC) win of the season against Vermont State University Castleton by a final score of 19-3. The Corsairs secured their first conference victory to go 1-0 in LEc play while the Spartans start the year with a 0-1 league record.

Kyra Lyons each recorded two goals apiece while sophomore
Abby Pitts posted her third goal of the season to put UMass Dartmouth ahead 10-2.
UMass Dartmouth continued their attacking dominance, scoring four unanswered goals in the second period to take a 14-2 advantage before halftime. Lipanovich produced two of the four goals for the Corsairs first year
Claire Altshuler also found the back of the net for her first score of the afternoon. In the third period, Lipanovich kick started the scoring for the third straight period by burying the ball past Spartans goalie Katie Stager for her sixth of the day. Shortly after, Lyons netted her third goal of the game off the assist from first year
Adella Mabee to make it 16-2 heading into the final period.
First year
Jade Munoz opened the fourth period by scoring her first collegiate goal at the 11:34 mark in her debut season for UMass Dartmouth. Mabee and Altshuler each tallied one score apiece in the final minutes of the game to cement the Corsairs dominant 19-3 victory at home in Little East action.
UMass Dartmouth outshot VTSU Castleton by a 44-23 margin in the game while also holding a 20-11 advantage in shots on-goal. The Spartans saw 24 total turnovers compared to the Corsairs with 21 in the contest. UMass Dartmouth also held a 14-10 edge on draw controls as well as a 29-22 margin in total ground balls. The Corsairs converted 6-of-12 shots from the free position spot in comparison to the Spartans registering one goal on five free position attempts.
Lipanovich ended the day with a team-high six goals along with one assist for seven points after winning three draw controls and scoping up two ground balls. Allen recorded her 100
th career point as a Corsair after earning five points on three goals and two assists. Lyons also finished the game with her third hat trick of the season along with three assists for six total points. Altshuler netted a pair of goals in the win while also recording two draw controls, her first in her career. DiBiase also scored a pair of goals while Munoz, Pitts, and Mabee finished the afternoon with one goal apiece.

Keira Bushey picked up her fifth win in net for UMass Dartmouth as well as her first conference victory after posting 12 saves and allowing just three goals. Her counterpart made nine stops and allowed 19 goals after playing the entire game.
The Corsairs will travel to Massachusetts Maritime Academy for their next non-conference game on Wednesday, March 16. The contest is scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m.
