WESTON, Mass. – Behind goals from six different scorers, the UMass Dartmouth women's lacrosse team defeated Regis College, 17-2 in non-conference action on Thursday. With the victory, the Corsairs have now won three straight to improve to 3-1 on the season. The Pride move to 1-2 on the young season.
After Regis scored the opening goal less than three minutes into the opening quarter, the Corsairs went on a run with five straight goals to end the frame. Sophomore midfielder

Jenny Lipanovich moved it to a 3-1 score with a free position goal, while rookie attack
Claire Altshuler caught a pass from Mabee down low, banking it in low in front at 2:32. Lipanovich closed out the scoring in the opening quarter, scooping up a loose ball off an attempted pass from Lyons, before coming around the net to fire it in for the 5-1 lead heading into the second quarter.
Lipanovich was the star of the second quarter, having a hand in four of the team's five goals in the frame. The rookie got things going at 13:50, converting a pass from Altshuler for the 6-1 lead. UMD went up by six (7-1) as Allen caught an outstanding pass from Lipanovich.
The next two goals came from Lipanovich as she fired in a shot off a feed from sophomore attack
Jennifer Lins at 11:07, followed by another great pass by DiBiase at the top of the arc as Lipanovich turned and fired. Lyons made it a 10-1 lead heading into halftime as she drove through traffic and swung around to the front to rifle it in low.
In the third quarter, the Corsairs offense continued to push as the first career goal from rookie attack
Abby Pitts made it an 11-1 margin. With 10:57 remaining, Lipanovich netted another one converting a pass from sophomore attack
Katelyn Hague. Pitts returned to the net at 7:25 as a pass from Mabee dropped low behind the net as Pitts scooped it up and drove around the front.

Lily Nees went on to capitalize for her first of the season, collecting a pass from Lyons for the 14-1 advantage. Lyons added the final goal of the third quarter.
The homestanding Pride added another tally to open the final quarter, but goals from Lipanovich and Lyons closed out the victory for the visiting Corsairs.
UMass Dartmouth was led by Lipanovich, who posted seven goals with an assist, adding two ground balls, four caused turnovers and two draw controls. Lyons added four goals and an assist on the evening, also notching a caused turnover, while Altshuler recorded a goal with two assists, taking on three ground balls and a caused turnover. Allen added two goals with five ground balls, three caused turnovers and six draw controls, while Pitts added two goals.

Keira Bushey earned the victory, recording four saves.
The Corsairs owned a 38-10 advantage in shots for the contest, including a 24-6 edge in shots on goal. UMD was also 14-16 on the clear and led by a 26-13 margin in draw controls. Both teams posted 11 wins on the draw.
UMass Dartmouth returns to action on Monday when it competes in the Puerto Rico Clasico against Montclair State University. Game time is set for 9:30am.
