Three from Baseball Named CSC Academic All-District

Blesi, Boutiette and Wixon tabbed by College Sports Communicators

DARTMOUTH, Mass. – College Sports Communicators (CSC) has announced its 2025 Academic All-District selections in baseball and three UMass Dartmouth student-athletes have been honored. Senior Liam Blesi, junior Ray Boutiette and sophomore Cooper Wixon were all tabbed for their outstanding work in the classroom and on the field.
 
Blesi, a senior outfielder from Burnt Hills, N.Y., posted a team-high .283 batting average in his first season with the Corsairs. In 29 games played – all as a starter – the left fielder posted 30 hits in 106 at-bats, including four doubles, a triple and three home runs. In addition to 14 runs scored, he added 18 runs batted in, while going 5-for-5 in stolen base attempts.
 
A Little East Player of the Week honoree this season, Blesi posted a 3.56 cumulative grade point average as a marketing major at UMass Dartmouth. Highlighting his season was a 3-for-6 with two runs scored and a double in the season-opening two-game weekend at Penn State Harrisburg. He also went 2-for-3, including a grand slam home run with two runs scored and four runs batted in during a tough loss to Roger Williams.
 
Boutiette, a right-handed pitcher from Carver, Mass., appeared in 11 games for the Corsairs this season. He made nine starts and recorded one complete game, posting a 6.13 earned run average over a team-best 54.1 innings pitched. Boutiette allowed 43 runs (37 earned) on 66 hits, posting 21 strikeouts with just eight walks.
 
The Little East Pitcher of the Week for March 10, Boutiette owns a 3.50 cumulative GPA as a general business administration major. The junior earned his first win as a Corsair, going 8.0 innings as he allowed two runs on six hits with a season-high eight strikeouts in a 5-2 win over Roger Williams – earning his weekly honor. Other highlights include pitching 9.0 innings, allowing just one run with a strikeout in a 7-1 win over WestConn on March 22.  
 
Wixon, a shortstop from Plano, Texas, posted a 3.64 cumulative GPA as a biology major at UMass Dartmouth. On the field, the sophomore started and played in 35 games for the Corsairs, owning a .270 batting average. He recorded 31 hits in 115 at-bats, including a team-high eight doubles with a triple. In addition to 21runs scored, he added nine runs batted in with 41 total bases.
Wixon, who finished second on the team with 12 stolen bases in 14 attempts, saw his season highlighted by a number of strong efforts. He went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a double in a 5-2 win over Roger Williams on March 9. Wixon also combined to go 3-for-7 with three runs scored, an RBI and a double in a doubleheader sweep of VTSU Castleton on April 11. He also went 2-for-4 with a run scored and two RBI, also notching a triple in a tough loss to UMass Boston in the LEC Tournament.
 
UMass Dartmouth concluded the 2025 season with a 16-21 overall record. The Corsairs went 8-8 in the Little East standings, earning the sixth-seed for the conference tournament. UMD shouldered tough losses to eventual-champion, Keene State and UMass Boston to conclude the year.
