Frazier nets first career brace in road victory against the Blazers

CHICOPPE, Mass. – The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth women's soccer team defeated Elms College, 4-1, on the road for their first win of the 2025 campaign from Leary Field on Saturday afternoon. The Corsairs improved to 1-0-1 overall record on the young season while the Blazers dropped to 1-1 on the year.

The Corsairs grabbed an early 1-0 lead just three minutes, respectively, into the game thanks to first year Natalie Frazier posting her first collegiate goal. First year Kiariana Williams flicked ball through the Blazers defense to Frazier darting down the right flank before slicing a shot past the Elms goalkeeper and into the back of the net to put UMass Dartmouth up 1-0.

Around the 10-minute mark, Corsairs goalkeeper Tori Russo denied a shot by Gabby Montano to earn her first save of the season. UMass Dartmouth continued to push their attack in the closing minutes of the opening half as first year Kate Sanchez tested Blazers goalkeeper Sofia Rivers with a shot on frame.

In the second half, Elms equalized in the 55th minute after Emily Basua found the back of the net to make it a 1-1 game. Shortly after, Williams responded for UMass Dartmouth by netting her first collegiate goal from the penalty spot to regain a 2-1 advantage.

Frazier connected with Williams once again to tally her second score of the afternoon and extend the Corsairs lead to 3-1 approaching the final 20 minutes of fixture. Senior captain Antonella Goncalves sealed UMass Dartmouth's victory with her 72nd minute goal off the assist from first year Emilie Trainque and secure their first victory of the season by a final score of 4-1.

Frazier led the Corsairs offense after netting her first pair of collegiate goals and registering a team-high nine shots with four on target. Williams also had an impressive day scoring her first career goal along with two assists for four points in the win.
