CHICOPEE, Mass. – The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth field hockey team secured their first win of the 2025 season at Elms College by a commanding 6-0 final score from Leary Field on Tuesday evening. The Corsairs move to a 1-1 overall record with the victory over the Blazers who dropped to 0-2 on the young season.
The Corsairs wasted no time in the game by grabbing a 3-0 lead in the opening five minutes of action. Junior captain

Kelly Bates each notched their first career scores as a Corsair to extend the visiting team's advantage to 3-0.
UMass Dartmouth maintained their control in the second period as sophomore
Ava Lozeau recorded a shot the was blocked by a Blazer defender. Palm scored her second goal of the afternoon at the 24:12 mark to give the Corsairs a 4-0 cushion heading into halftime.
Despite an 8-0 shot differential, Blazers goalie Katelyn Volk kept UMass Dartmouth off the scoreboard in the third period after making five saves. First year
Shyla Mills broke through for the Corsairs early in the fourth period with a goal at the 48:38 mark to pull the Corsairs away with a 5-0 lead. Sophomore
Arlene Johnson sealed UMass Dartmouth's win with her late score in the game to defeat Elms by a final score of 6-0.
Palm led the Corsairs offense with her two-goal performance, her first pair of collegiate goals, after finishing the contest with 3-of-5 shots on target. Bouffard also tallied her first goal and assist of the season for three points in the win. Mills recorded her first career goal as a Corsair while Johnson produced her first score of the year, marking her second in her career.

Shane Cueman earned her first-ever shutout win in the cage for UMass Dartmouth. Volk finished the game with 13 total saves and allowed six goals in net for the Blazers.
UMass Dartmouth host Westfield State University on Saturday, Sept. 6 for their nest non-conference tilt starting at 12:00 p.m. from Cressy Field.
