DARTMOUTH, Mass. – First year
Natalie Frazier powers the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth women's soccer team over Western Connecticut State University, 3-1, with her third brace of the year to capture first Little East Conference (LEC) win from Cressy Field. The Corsairs are now 1-1-1 in conference action and 3-4-2 overall while the Wolves dropped to 2-1 league record.

Antonella Goncalves ripped two early shots on target for UMass Dartmouth that Wolves goalkeeper Katherine Pease saved. Shortly after, the Corsairs earned their first corner kick of the contest that Frazier stepped up to take. The rookie forward curled the ball into the top right corner to give UMass Dartmouth a 1-0 edge in the opening 10 minutes of play.

Marina Cassano posted her first four saves in net to keep the Wolves off the scoreboard midway through the first half. Approaching the 30

Ashlyn Aguiar dished the ball to the feet of Frazier who then fired a low left-footed shot that bounced off the inside post and into the back of the net for her second score of the afternoon. Despite six late WestConn shots in the half, featuring one save by Cassano, UMass Dartmouth headed into the break with a 2-0 lead.
First year
Kiariana Williams started the second half strong for the Corsairs firing off three shots including two on frame that Pease was able to stop. As the intensity of the game picked up, the Wolves capitalized on a penalty kick with 71:37 on the clock to cut the Corsairs lead in half to 2-1. WestConn continued to push their attack registering 4-of-6 shots on target, all which Cassano saved, nearing the final whistle. In the last two minutes of the contest, Williams cemented UMass Dartmouth's win with a penalty kick goal to defeat the Wolves by a final score of 3-1 at home.
Frazier recorded her third two-goal performance for the Corsairs this season bringing her to seven total goals on the year. Williams notched her second goal of the season and first career penalty goal while Aguiar produced her first career assist as a Corsair.
Cassano earned her second win in net for UMass Dartmouth following an 11 save effort and only allowed one goal on the afternoon. Pease recorded four saves and allowed three goals in net for WestConn.
The Corsairs travel to the University of Hartford for their next non-conference tilt of the season on Tuesday, September 30
th with a 6:00 p.m. start time.
