PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Little East Conference (LEC) announced it's weekly awards report for women's soccer featuring first year
Marina Cassano of the UMass Dartmouth women's soccer team as the Co-Goalkeeper of the Week. This marks the first weekly honor for Cassano following an strong performance in net for the Corsairs.
Cassano earned her second career win between the posts after the Corsairs defeated Western Connecticut State University, 3-1, during Saturday's conference tilt. The rookie goalkeeper posted 11 total saves in net and allowed just one goal, coming from a penalty kick, for a 91.7 save percentage on the afternoon.
The Broomfield native currently ranks second overall in the conference in saves (48) and saves per game (6.00). Cassano also sits third overall with a 82.8 save percentage and a 1.67 goal against average.
Cassano and UMass Dartmouth are back in action on Tuesday, September 30 traveling to the University of Hartford. The non-conference tilt is scheduled for a 6:00 p.m. start time from Alumni Stadium.
