PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Little East Conference (LEC) released its weekly award report for men's basketball with first year guard
Mahdee McNair collecting LEC Rookie of the Week honors, as announced by the league on Monday. It marks the third LEC Rookie of the Week award for McNair this season.
McNair capped off a 2-1 week for UMass Dartmouth by dropping 40 total points, averaging 13.3 points per game, to improve the Corsairs to a 7-4 overall mark on the year. The rookie guard went 15-for-25 from the floor for a 60.0 field goal shooting percentage to go along with seven made three-pointers (7-12) and 3-for-4 from the free throw line. McNair also recorded nine rebounds, four steals, and an assist across three contests.
The first year guard aided the Corsairs to an 80-69 win over Suffolk University on Wednesday in the final day of the Trinity Holiday Tournament. McNair posted an 18-point effort against the Rams as well as four boards and a game-high three steals. On Saturday, McNair was one of five Corsairs to score in double figures to defeat MIT at home by a final score of 84-72. He dropped 14 points after going 4-for-7 from the field with one rebound, one assist, and a steal.
McNair and UMass Dartmouth returns to LEC action on Tuesday, January 6th traveling to Eastern Connecticut State University for a 3:00 p.m. tipoff.
