Mekhi Wilson has been recognized. It marks the first weekly honor of the season for the senior captain.
The Narragansett, R.I., native paced the Corsairs offense on Saturday, finishing with a season-high 211 yards on a career single-game best 27 carries (7.6 yard per carry) in a tough 26-22 setback at Mass. Maritime.
Wilson's first touchdown of the game came on a 76-yard run, putting the Corsairs up, 14-6 in the second quarter. Wilson then scored on a 16-yard rush to end the third quarter and give UMD a 22-19 advantage.
On the season, Wilson has rushed for 575 yards on 83 attempts across four games. He is averaging 6.9 yards per carry and 143.7 rushing yards per contest on the season. Of his four games, three have seen Wilson rush for over 100+ yards, with Saturday's effort falling just seven yards shy of his single-game career mark from the 2025 season. Additionally, he has scored a team-high six touchdowns.
Currently, Wilson leads the MASCAC in a number of categories, including total rushing yards, rushing yards per game, scoring (10.5 pts per game), rushing touchdowns and all-purpose yards (151.0). Amongst the best in Division III, Wilson is seventh in rushing yards per game, ninth in rushing yards, 20th in rushing yards per carry, 21st in rushing touchdowns and 25th in all-purpose yards.
UMass Dartmouth, which is 1-3 overall and 1-2 in conference play, returns to the field on Saturday, October 17 when it travels to Worcester State for a 2:30pm game against the Lancers.
